CLOSER TO AGRICULTURAL PLOTS

From 26.05 km of country road routes, which will be decorated and revitalized by the end of this year in the City of Nis, thanks to the support of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management for Agriculture and Rural Development of the City of Nis, 6.34 km of country roads will be done in the populated area of the City Municipality of Palilula. The investment amounts to the sum of  4.580 million. President of the Municipality of Palilula Boban Džunić and his associates and members of the Citizens Council from the village of Lalinac visited one of location in the village of Lalinac.

"This is very important to our villages because we know the conditions of agricultural production - said president Džunić. Due to poor country roads everyone is loosing, the agricultural producers as well as the consumers. You've heard from our farmers, that the unedited field roads affect the quality of the agricultural work, the big distribution yields, and there are increased fuel costs. The villages of Lalinac, along with the vilage of Međurovo, are mostly producing vegetable products that supply the whole region and the city of Nis. According to Boban Dzunic, in municipality of Palilula there are 15 villages which rely on a narrower part of the city. The total acreage of Palilula is 7,395 ha. Of these 6,648 ha are arable land and 747 ha are pastures. "Strategic Development Plan" of Municipality of Palilula listed as a primary task the priority of the revival of the villages, which are expected to be the basis for sustainable development of our community in the future, said the president.

The funds for this year's investment are provided from the state budget in the competition for the approval and use of financial incentives for the implementation of investment and other investments - programs and projects in the field of protection, development and use of agricultural land for the year of 2013th. As pointed out by Ljubisa Stojanovic, deputy head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of the City of Nis, following a public procurement procedure for works on the organization of the field roads, there is an expectation that during the month of November there will be a beginning of a new series of works.

According to Milan Nikolic, head of the Department of Economy and Local Economic Development in municipality of Palilula, field and agricultural roads will be done in six villages during this year, and in the lowland part of the municipality, in the villages Lalinac, Donje Međurovo, Gornje Medjurovo, Mramorski Potok and Krušce, in hilly area in Suvi Do and Vukmanovo. Last year, municipality of Palilula was governed by field roads with total length of 12 kilometers, which cost that ranged about eight million.
